Rupert and his family (Compagnie Financiere Rupert) have business interests which include a 9.1% stake in Compagnie Financiere Richemont, 6 867 150 shares in Remgro and 47 908 782 in Reinet Investments SCA. It was a bit tricky to calculate the value of the Richemont holding as the only information available is that the holding which consists of class "B" unlisted shares constitute 9.1% of the equity. Based on the September 2012 interim financials I estimate this holding to be worth just over R9 bil. Together with the other 2 company holdings, this gives a listed net worth of just under R17 bil. Forbes estimates his total net worth as at March 2012 to be $5.1 bil. This value must include other investments overseas and unlisted investments as well as property and other private assets.
