This book is basically a biography of Warren Buffett, the greatest
value investor who ever lived. If you're considering becoming an
investor (value investor or not) this book is a must read.
Many of Buffets ideas and his way of thinking is described in
the book. This should give you some insight into how the "Oracle of
Omaha" thinks. I'm not saying you're going to become a Warren
Buffet by reading it, but you will definitely become a better investor.
As I have already mentioned, this book is a biography of Warren Buffett's life. The thought of reading about an investor's life may sound somewhat boring,
but as soon as you begin reading it, you are enthralled by the lifestyle and mindset of perhaps the greatest investor that ever lived. Alice Schroeder
provides a unique point of view on many issues and it is refreshing that an outsiders views are given. It allows us to see Warren Buffet in a light
that is somewhat different from that in which he sees himself. It allows us a perspective that we can identify with and it makes us feel closer to
the character. Of course, some of the views are biased in favour of Warren Buffett, but that is to be expected.
Buffet's personal life and the way in which he creates the snowball of investments,family
and friends is thrilling.
I found this book extremely entertaining and I know that any aspiring investor will too, although I believe that many
non-investors will find this book riveting as well. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that asks... all 800 plus pages of it.
